DESCRIPTION: Foliose. Up to 2cm across this lichen has a light greenish-grey thallus with erect lobe tips that are tipped with long cilia. These lobes become hood-shaped and inflated. The undersurface is white with well spaced white to black rhizinae. The fertile discs are brownish-black when fertile with swollen lips. DISTRIBUTION: Frequent throughout. HABITAT: On nutrient rich branches calcerous rocks and tombstones. |
